Our Nutrition Commitment
Meals & Snacks at CALC
Mealtime for our children in daycare is more than just balanced meals and nutritious snacks; it is a vital part of each day. This is also a great time for learning manners, socializing, praying and talking about their day. It is our goal, to provide children with wholesome and nutritious meals. All meals are cooked on premises using only all natural ingredients without additives, preservatives and sugars.
The choices of proteins include fresh vegetables, chicken, turkey, fish and beef. All meals are served with abundant fresh fruits and vegetables. Community Academy Learning Center maintains a peanut free and nut free environment and honors all food allergy requests and/or religious food-related preferences. You are welcome to bring food if your child has a special diet or food regimen.
Eat Smart for a Healthy Start
We provide 2 meals each day – breakfast, hot lunch plus an afternoon snack, which are included with tuition. Each meal meets 1/3 of the nutritional requirements, and snacks will include 2 items from the 4 food groups.
Breakfast is served from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Afternoon snack is served from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
What is Our Nutrition Goal?
It is our goal to offer nutritious meals and snacks to the children in our care, as nutrition is a vital part of a child’s health. Children need to eat well-balanced meals in order to meet his or her daily energy needs and to help them build a strong body and mind. We know that the good food habits a child develops will help them prevent cavities, iron deficiency anemia, and obesity, etc – all common nutritional problems in young children.
We post our menu weekly and meals and snacks vary to ensure the children receive a well-balanced diet!
